First identified back in 1763 as a red lead ore, this stunningly distinctive mineral gets its name from the Greek κρόκος (crocon – saffron) acknowledging its vibrant colour. These unusual tubular crystals from Dundas, Tasmania, Australia are sourced from an old collection – very few crystals are found now. We’re excited to bring you this offering!
