These cute little animals are carved by hand from soapstone in Peru. Soapstone, or steatite, is a soft natural stone known for its smooth texture and varying, earthy colors. It’s a lovely, soothing stone, particularly effective as a conduit when working with other stones.

All of our Peruvian stone products are cut and polished to order for us by artisans in Peru, keeping the profits in Peru, helping to lift people out of poverty. We work closely with a supplier who shares our ethos – they’re all about using their business to improve the industry and lift people out of poverty. Good business practice and worker safety is at the centre of everything they do. We pay market rates to ensure the workers are paid fairly for their mahi.
