Ammonite – Large – X462-D4
Ammonites were relatives of squids and nautili which thrived in the seas during the time of some dinosaurs. Their name originates from the Greek ram-horned god Ammon. There were many different varieties, ranging in size from a penny to a tractor tyre. These examples from the limestone quarries around Agadir, Morocco are great collector pieces.
