Aegirine
Named for gir, the Norse God of the sea - these dark, brooding, increasingly rare crystals have come out of Malawi, and are some of the best we've seen. Resonating with the base chakra, these dark, green/black/brown crystals with their sharp edges possess an ancient protective energy. They're generally used to protect from negativity, particularly in instances of bullying, as the waves of energy wash their way up the chakra column, strengthening self worth and the will to thrive. Agate

Amber
Treasured for thousands of years by cultures around the world, Amber has a powerful but gentle energy. Amber is known for its emotional balancing properties, it’s calming nature, and a warm, protective embrace.

Amethyst - Vera Cruz
As our understanding of crystals grows, a heightened sensitivity to and perception of energy enables us to explore the nuance of provenance. As with terroir in the wine world and single origin coffees, the provenance/origin context may help us better appreciate and interpret the energy of the stones. All the standard properties apply, though these crystals have more to offer if we listen. Amethyst crystals from Vera Cruz, Mexico, are particularly special. They’re distinctive in shape and colour and notable for a higher vibration energy that activates the crown chakra with power and finesse. Amethyst 
Being both calming and protective, Amethyst is a crowd pleaser… It’s soothing energy calms the mind encouraging a restful sleep. Its connection to the third eye aids strengthening our intuition and helps us in making better decisions. It’s especially good at helping us to make decisions about ourselves, specifically in relation to addictive tendencies and anything that may be harmful to us; Amethyst protects us from ourselves. Ammonites - Agadir
Ammonites were relatives of squids and nautili which thrived in the seas during the time of some dinosaurs. Their name originates from the Greek ram-horned god Ammon. There were many different varieties, ranging in size from a penny to a tractor tyre. These examples from the limestone quarries around Agadir, Morocco are great collector pieces. Age: approx. 140-100 million years

Ancestralite
The ancient grounding energy of Ancestralite is really something to behold. The bands of Martite layered with Hematite and Red Jasper give these stones a striking appearance. These stones are billions of years old and have experienced enormous pressure and tectonic upheaval - they bring a heavy but very accessible and stable energy and they’re surprisingly calming to hold. Use them to draw on deep earth energy to aid your  manifestation practice. 

Angelite
Don’t let Angelite’s delicate blue hues and soft energy fool you, with its obvious traits of mindfulness, calm, and compassion. Beyond its gentleness, Angelite has a zestier side - connecting with the Throat Chakra to inspire bold self-expression. and stronger spiritual and angelic connection. Angelite facilitates the flow of energy in your life - it’s a little, or a lot - it’s whatever you need at the moment. Peru provides us with a wide array of stunning stones, with Angelite being one of the better known. Otherwise known as blue Anhydrite, the stones are found near Lima in the Casapalca mineral deposit, alongside a number of precious metals. While anhydrite is found in other localities around the world, only Peruvian Anhydrite is known as Angelite. 

Anthophyllite with Garnet
(Not Arfvedsonite or Astrophyllite) So fun story - we bought this as astrophyllite and garnet, but believed it was actually arfvedsonite and garnet but the memo got lost and the first ones got mislabeled (apologies!) But here’s where it gets more fun - turns out this is actually garnet and anthophyllite! These are commonly mislabelled stones and you’ll see all manner of names used across the internet - most commonly the trade name, fireworks stone. Like Arfvedsonite, Anthophyllite is an amphibole mineral, with stunning sprays of golden, iridescent crystals. This stone from Hubei, China is closely related to Nuummite and shares a deeply grounding energy. Combined with Garnet, these stones offer strength, passion, and vitality - think pep in your step, vim and vigour, and bursting with life. #effervescent

Apatite
Apatite is a beautiful stone found in many different colours, so is often mistaken for other stones like peridot or beryl - hence its name, which comes from the Greek word for deception. Apatite is known for its ability to ignite our intellect, particularly in helping us to better grasp big ideas and concepts.Great as a stone for study, or as a dream aid, to facilitate connection to the subconscious in any dream state. Apophyllite
These deeply energetic stones are ethically quarried from the vast basalt fields near Pune, India. Apophyllite can look similar to quartz, though it is distinctive for its four sided, pyramidic points that have a tendency to cleave or sheer, hence the name apophyllite, from the Greek words ‘apo’ meaning ‘off’ and ‘phyllon’ meaning ‘leaf’- which is why the crystals can appear as cubes in clusters, once the point has cleaved off. These are known as stones of ascension and light. Popular among healers, they can act as doorways to other realms, or conduits for crown energy. Meditating, or simply taking a short mindful moment with apophyllite is said to help clear anxieties, fears, and worries. Step confidently into the day with a heart full of light…

Aragonite Sputniks
These stunning Aragonite clusters, named for their resemblance to the Sputnik satellite from 1957, have distinctive radiating orange crystals. They're quarry mined nearby Tazouta, Morocco. Bring your space back into balance with aragonite - the delicate earth energy is beautiful and stabilising. Aragonite supports us in feeling collected, in control, and aware of the energies around us. With aragonite, everything is peachy - not too little, not too much - just perfectly enough.

Aura Amethyst
These pretty amethyst clusters have had an aura coating applied through a gentle electroplating process that leaves a very thin but very resilient shimmery metallic layer across the crystal faces. We have these in angel/pearl aura, rainbow aura, and blue aura – each with their own listing. While we’re not always happy about crystals being modified or coated, we love that these aura clusters are produced with a lower grade of amethyst that often won’t sell as it is. Maybe it’s pale or has a chipped crystal in the middle or something – the aura coating hides these things and gives them a new life as something desirable.

Aventurine

Azurite with Green Moonstone
